I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I was lucky enough to get these beautiful flowers from my mom and dad. Thanks mom and dad I love them!
My Mother's Day was kind of humorous, it started off pretty good. Matt has always had to work on Mother's Day, it is one of the restaurants biggest days of the year. Kate and I went to church and she was a perfect gem during Nursery, thank goodness because there were a ton of kids. All the little kids were good except for the new little boy who kept stealing every one's toys including Kate's. Then he ate all of Kate's crackers, and threw her Binky across the room several times. Other than that sweet little soul it went great. When we got home we went into Hamilton's to eat...(free buffet, who could turn that down?) Kate ate about 1/2 a plate full of garlic mashed potatoes. Of all the gourmet food there Matt and I stuck to the enchiladas, yum, yum!
After the buffet we went home and Matt gave me a card, quite a mushy card, and a gift certificate to Kohls (I love Kohls). I was excited to get both from him, and then I noticed on the gift card it wasn't his handwriting. It looked like girls handwriting. And here's how the conversation went when I discovered that:
"Matt did you go and buy this?"
Matt responds, "What do you mean?" Halfway smiling.
"Come on Matt this isn't your handwriting, who bought this for you?" (knowing that the hostesses often run errands for him.)
"Um, I didn't have time to go Saturday the restaurant was really busy." (Matt halfway laughing)
"Okay, so who bought it?"
"Justin" (Matt's boss).
We had a good laugh over that, I really didn't care. I think Justin bought it for more money than Matt would have spent so I was happy. Plus, it's the thought that counts, right?
Later that evening I was thinking about Justin buying my Mother's Day gift when I started to ponder on the card. The card seemed a little out of character for Matt to pick out so later that night I asked him who picked out the card. Again our conversation went about like before when he finally told me Justin picked out the card also.
So Justin I just want to thank you for picking out such a thoughtful card from my husband and a great gift that I will surely use. Perhaps you could take over all major holidays of the year, our Anniversary is December 29th, and my birthday is March 18th, Thanks!
But really I love Matt, so thank you for the thought Matt. I had a great Mother's Day!

That is so funny!! It sounds like Justin is Matt's secretary, not boss. I also love the plug for more gifts from Matt via Justin!
Sooooo funny! I agree with Amber's comment about Justin being the secretary. When we come visit you, I want to go to Hamelton's. I've heard good things. Fire Academy is OVER in t-minus 6 weeks....we'll be on your doorstep shortly thereafter....if that's still ok. :o)
Love it!! If I was in Logan, I would have made sure Matt was on top of things so that he wouldn't have to send his boss-- that is too funny. Glad you had a great Mother's Day... it was your first official one!
What a funny story. That cracks me up. Thank goodness for good bosses. Hope you have a great time at Kohls. Send any unused money my way!
Happy Mother's Day!
That is too funny. But what's even funnier is I'm not suprised Matt did that. Have a great time shopping!
Way to go Justin (and Matt) I wonder why Justin isn't married. Sounds like he knows what to buy a girl :D!! Isn't mother's day fun!
The previous post from Greg is actually from Jodi. Just thought I would clarify that so the impression is not left that I love Kohls
My Mother-in-law covered my Mother's Day gifts for Andrew. She picked up the flowers, bought the book... etc.
It's a good thing they share a zip code or I'd have empty holidays! ha ha ha... Happy belated Mother's day to you!
Dear Amanda,
Please update.
Also, I've decided that I think we should take a two day joint family vacation to bear lake this year. You in?
PS I'm serious.
