We celebrated Kate's 1 st birthday yesterday. We talked about having a big party, but Matt has been working so much lately he really just wanted it to be the three of us. We had a great dinner of steak and potatoes, then we let Kate dig into her cake. This was my attempt at making a creative cake, unfortunately the ladybug's head fell off and the frosting was runny, but I don't think Kate minded much. We had a great time with her, and I can't believe she is already one, where does time go?
Licking the frosting off the cake, we must be related!

Eating the cake, she liked it...a lot.

Getting ready to open presents.

She loved all of the gifts, thanks everyone! The big hit was the duck book and the LA Dodger hat from Grandma and Grandpa Peterson, and Uncle Dan.

We couldn't get her to take the hat off all night, she loves that hat!

I can not believe that Kate is 1 already!! Where does the time go? She looks so cute in that Dodgers hat, and that is so funny that she liked it so much. What a cute girl!
Happy Birthday Kate! The time goes way too fast doesn't it? I guess that encourages us to add more to our families. Right??? Right!!!
Happy Birthday big girl!!! The past year has gone by way too fast. Enjoy your cute cake... even if it is headless!
I love the cake, with or without the head ;)!! I cannot believe it was a year ago that we were pregnant and miserable :)! Happy Birthday Kate!
