Sunday Miracle

Okay so it's not really a miracle, but it was to us. Kate has been teasing us about walking for around a month now. She could walk, but being the cautious little thing she is she refuses. Sunday we went to nursery as usual and just as I was explaining to the other couple in there about how Kate won't walk, she takes a step. Matt and I were in shock and disbelief. But she continued to walk all around the nursery. Perhaps it was her dress that was a little too long making it hard to crawl, or perhaps it was the other children running around, either way she walked. We rushed home from church so that we could get some video of her walking. And of course once we were home she refused. The child hasn't walked since. Oh well, at least we know she can do it.

In other news, I'm still completely obsessed with cleaning. I think it's an addiction and I can't stop. I learned so many great things from the classes I took, that I just got so excited about cleaning . Here are a few great tips I learned, that really work.

1. Wipe down your shower or tub walls with lemon oil. It keeps hard water stains from forming. But only do it on vertical surfaces, do not do it on the tub or shower floor, or you will die.

2. Straighten your home first, and everyday. Straight homes look cleaner, even if they are not. When people come over they won't notice if your window jams are clean, but they will notice if your home is straightened.

3. Put your cleaning tasks onto index cards organized by months, and days of the week. That way tasks like scrubbing vents will get done regularly.

4. Do it NOW, that was the best piece of advice I heard the whole time. Don't wait until later to do the dishes, pick up the toys, ect. Do it now, and do it often. If you wait it will take twice as long, and there will be twice as much to do.

That's my two bits about cleaning for now.

You'll all be happy to know I did cut Kate's mullet off and it looks a million times better. Thanks for all those who told me to chop it.

That is so exciting that she walked, and so funny that she won't do it at home!! I think that she looks a lot like you in that first picture.
