Learning and Trying New Things

This past week has been a big one for Kate. She officially moved into her "big girl bed" and out of mommy and daddy's bed (thank goodness). It was rough in the beginning, but ever since she found out that Elmo sleeps in a big bed without crying or getting out of his bed she's done much better. Thank goodness for Elmo.

She also discovered her new favorite book, a nursery rhyme book. We read that book over and over and over. Yesterday she surprised me by reciting one of her favorite rhymes in it. Here's a video of her saying it, you'll have to listen to it about 20 times before you can understand her. Here's what she's trying to say:

Hey Diddle Diddle
The cat and the fiddle
The cow JUMPED over the moon
The little dog laughed to see such a sport
And the dish ran away with the spoon

She really is such a fun little person to be with. She is happy almost all the time (except when she's hungry and tired), and listening to the funny things she says and thinks just cracks me up. Having a 2 year old really is the best, it makes me sad to think she'll just keep getting older. I'm sure we're in for our fair share of the "terrible two's" but for now I'll just keep enjoying the sweet little thing she is.

We tried a pony tail for the first time today, it turned out pretty cute.

So adorable! She is a smart girl Amanda. She is so sweet and such a trooper especially considering her age. It was great seeing you guys last week. Thanks for hanging out with us!

I love Kate's ponytail; it is seriously adorable! I'm so glad that you got her saying the nursery rhyme on video; it really is quite impressive for a 2 year old.
