2 Year Olds

2 year olds are funny little people. Kate has become quite a character these days. Most of the time she is very pleasant to be around. She is usually cooperative and happy running around the house being silly. She loves her sister and especially loves to scare her (poor Gabriella puts up with a lot). She is inquisitive and asks a lot of questions, comes up with funny things to say, and will politely tell you if she doesn't want you to do something usually replying "No thank you" or "Could you please stop singing..." (I hear that one a lot).

But every once in a while I see why people call it the terrible 2's. She can be independent, stubborn, uncooperative, emotional, and can throw a fit like nobody's business. It's times like that I'm grateful I have a little baby who can't talk and can't fight me on brushing teeth, getting dressed, going to bed, eating meals, or picking up toys.

I'm grateful I have them both. I can't help but smile when Gabriella show me her huge grin, or help but laugh when Kate yells things at Matt like "Matthew Wayne get your bum bum up here!"
Kate loves her nursery rhymn book and repeated this one for me the other day. It's kind of a weird one but she loves to say it enthusiastically over and over. Here are the words so you understand:

Goosey Goosey Gander
Goosey Goosey Gander whither shall I wonder,
Upstairs, downstairs and in my ladies chamber?

There I met an old man who would not say his prayers,
I took him by the left leg and threw him down the stairs.

Wow! That's quite a rhyme for a little person. Great job!

So adorable. You are such a good mommy! It's funny that she is reciting that because I was just reading Aiden that poem tonight and he loved it too.
