Dust Storm

One of the more incredible things I've seen here in Arizona has been the dust storms. The first one I saw was during the summer. We were driving down the interstate and in front of us was what looked like a huge mushroom cloud of dust that went up thousands of feet. It looked like a massive bomb had gone off. To say it was incredible is an understatement. One of the neatest part of the dust storms is the way they make the sun look. Tonight we're having another storm so I was finally able to catch a few pictures. It isn't the solid cloud type that I've seen before but the pictures of the sun are still pretty amazing. Sometimes it even disappears completely behind the dust. And to put it in perspective for you

Wow. Is it safe to go outside during a dust storm? How long does it take before it settles?

I guess you need to invest in a lot of Pledge while living in Arizona?
