Growing Up and Getting Mad

The other day Gabriella, in a fit of rage yelled at me, "I'm mad at you Mom!" I was pretty shocked to hear those words come out of her mouth and even more shocked that she used them in the correct context. Seriously, when did she go from 2 to 10?

In the same week Kate said one of the funnier things I've ever heard her say. She was being unusually crazy and silly and at the same time Matt was having a rare moment of inpatients with her. She grabbed a handful of his chips threw them in the air and started laughing. Matt quickly addressed the issue and told her to clean up the chips. Kate began cleaning as slowly as she possibly could. When Matt for the 2nd or 3rd time told her to clean faster she very sternly replied, "I am cleaning, stop freaking out Dad!" Matt didn't find it nearly as funny as I did. Kate ended up on time out and I could not stop laughing.

I'm so glad for kids and the funny things they say, even if it sometimes it's out of anger.

HAHA! I love the 'freaking out' comment! I wish I could have heard that one.
