Matt's Birthday

Today was Matt's 30th Birthday! Kate woke up really excited about Matt's birthday. She carefully colored a card for him...my favorite part is when she wrote "Dad is 30" too cute. We spent the morning hanging out and getting ready for Kate's dance recital. Matt didn't want to do too much for his birthday so we went to the recital, bought dinner, came home enjoyed dinner, football, cake, and being together.

I couldn't help but think today how grateful I am for Matt. I've been so impressed with his ability to balance a full time job, full time school, and family. He works hard for our family and not a day goes by that I don't appreciate his work ethic.

I always knew he would be a great father but seeing him in action these past few years I can't help but be even more grateful for the father I chose for my children. He always stayed up late when we had newborn babies, and now he still has more patience with the girls than I could even dream of having.

And after being married for almost 7 years there's so many things that I've come to appreciate about our relationship. Even though he continuously teases me, I love his lightheartedness and how much joy fills our home because of him. He's a good man and I love everything about him. Happy Birthday Matt, thanks for sharing these past 7 years with me. I'm excited for our future and for many more birthdays to celebrate.
