"It Doesn't Matter"

Lately Gabriella has been evolving her tactics to get out of trouble.  A few weeks ago she started using the phrase "It doesn't matter!"  in response to any time she was going to get into trouble, any time I told her not to do something, or asked her to do something like pick up.  She just started shaking her head and saying over and over, "Mom, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter.  Don't worry, it doesn't matter."  I have tried on numerous occasions to explain to her that it most certainly DOES matter and she had better start listening for which she responds, "Fine, I'll take your power away."  She then lifts her hand at me, makes some sill noise and says, "there, no more power.  I took your power away!"  I'm not sure whether to laugh or put her in the corner on timeout.  Sometimes it drives me nuts and other times it just makes me smile.  This girl is such a little character and at the age of two learning to manipulate and rationalize her way out of trouble has me a little concerned for the years ahead.  If only she didn't do everything with such a cute smile on her face I may be a little more upset.

For Mother's Day Gabriella gave met this picture that she made in Nursery.  I could not stop laughing when I saw it.  It still cracks me up every time I look at it.  I'm so glad that she made that funny face because it seriously brightens my day every time I look at it.  How can you not just smile and laugh at that picture!
