Our fist week home has been exciting to say the least.
Day 2: I was holding Clayton in the middle of the night, I think burping him after feeding when I fell asleep and woke to a thud. Clayton had rolled off my chest and onto the floor! He was fine, but I felt horrible! This kid is big, strong, and can already roll from his stomach to his back.
Day 3: Kate started preschool for a 2 week summer course. I took Clayton to the Dr. to have his biliruben tested. It wasn't a big deal but the whole appointment took about 2 1/2 hours, it was a little ridiculous. I received a call from the Dr. letting me know I needed to go back in the morning to get his levels re-tested. That night our air conditioning unit stopped working...
Day 4: Woke up to a warm house but not unbearable. I headed to the lab to have Clayton's biliruben levels re-tested. Drove home and Matt went to work. At 1:15pm the Dr.'s office called and told me Clayton's levels had spiked and I needed to head to the Emergency Room immediately. I was stuck at home with all the kids and no car. I tried to get a hold of Matt but he was in meetings at work. At that point I wasn't sure what to do and was starting to line up a place for the girls to go, and a ride to the hospital, when Matt took an unexpected break from his meeting and checked his phone. He rushed home and we all headed to the ER. I was exhausted at this point. They checked his levels and thankfully they had gone down from that morning. We came home to a really hot house, and when it reached 97 degrees we decided to head to a hotel for the night.
Day 5: Came home from the hotel to a hot house. Kate went to preschool and Matt headed to work. Clayton, Gabriella and I layed in front of a fan most of the day. At 3pm the A/C guy came and by 4pm we had air conditioning again! It was heavenly.
Day 6: Was a wonderful boring day at home. Matt headed back to work and the girls, Clayton and I enjoyed our cool home.
Day 7: My aunt LaRae came to see us. She took the girls for 6 hours, 3 hours at McDonalds playing, and 3 hours swimming. It was so nice of her. Matt, Clayton and I all got naps and rested most of that time. The girls had a blast and came home ready for bed!
So far Clayton has been a great, mellow little baby. He likes to be put down when he is tired and puts himself to sleep. When he's awake he is content to just look around at the world. He has completely stolen my heart. I love having a little baby to snuggle and kiss. Life is good right now. I feel so grateful for all my blessings, and especially to have happy healthy children.

My goodness, Amanda! You have already endured a lot! I hope the next week goes much smoother. Only 3 weeks until we'll be there to let you get a few more naps.
