After that we headed into town for lunch, then back out to the lake for more fishing. Kate caught another fish and as Matt was unhooking it, he handed her his pole. Immediately she caught another fish on his pole. This happened again, thus every pole Kate touched caught a fish. I think she's Matt's new good luck charm. She loved being out there fishing even when it was raining on them, she did not want to leave.
A few of my favorite things from the trip were: listening to the wild donkeys that were in the mountains around the lake, when Kate asked Matt why he was eating "rotten steak" aka beef jerky, huddling together in the back of the car while the rain pounded down, seeing the excitement on Matt's face when Kate caught her first bass.
After a fun day we finally packed up and headed home around 7:30 when it was starting to get dark. It was such a fun day and we all can't wait to go back again.

Gabriella stuck her pole in the water right when we got there and immediately said "There's no fish in this lake!" She was under the impression you catch fish by sticking your entire pole into the water.
We hiked around the lake, and around some campgrounds. It really was a beautiful mix of the desert and the mountains there.

I agree, your pictures are beautiful! I'm glad you had a fun time, and escaped the heat for a day.
