We made sure to take tons of blankets because we were anticipating a chilly evening. The girls and Clayton did great. I was paranoid about him getting cold so I kept layering blankets, coats, and whatever I could find on him in the middle of the night. Throughout the night we could hear the Elk bugle all around us. I had never heard that before but it was kind of a pretty sound. It reminded me of someone playing an instrument starting off really low then ending higher like a flute. Between the cold, the elk, and kids waking up I'm not sure I got much sleep but it was worth it to be out there. Kate told me over and over how much she loved camping.
The next morning we got up, broke down camp and headed fishing for the day. It was pretty cool in the morning but by the afternoon had warmed up nicely. Kate fished almost the whole day, I'd ask her if she wanted to stop to watch a movie and she'd say "No thanks, I want to fish." Clayton was a trooper. I think he was the best of the kids by far. He slept and when he wasn't sleeping he was laying on the floor of the boat playing happily. It ended up being a really fun weekend trip.

Matt caught the only fish of the trip, a Pike.

Clayton was so happy the whole time. I'm always grateful he is such a good baby.
