First Day of School

Kate started her last year of Preschool this year.  We debated for a long time whether to send her to Kindergarten or have her wait.  And in the end decided to let her build her confidence up one more year before sending her to Kindergarten.  I wondered for awhile if we made the right choice but seeing how happy she has been the past month being the oldest and the "helper" at preschool made me feel more confident in our decision.

Kate has really grown so much this past year.  She has a strong desire to do what's right and tries hard to make good choices. She is creative and loves to draw elaborate pictures and write stories that go along with them.  She is determined and has great problem solving skills.  She's like a little Macgyver, rigging some concoction up with whatever supplies she has on hand.  She's a pretty sharp little girl and has already decided she knows a lot more than I do.  I find myself often explaining to her that I've been to 16 years of school so in fact her Mother may know more than she does.  She's a great helper and really is a good little girl.  I'm always grateful I have her around to help me.

Gabriella also started Preschool this year.  She was feeling pretty left out last year when she wasn't old enough to go so a few other Moms and I got together to do a preschool co-op.  Gabriella is loving it.
She continues to be happy 80% of the time and is throwing huge tantrums the other 20% of the time.  I'm not sure what happened this past month but it seems the closer she gets to turning three the more tantrums she throws.  She loves to be silly and has a the gift of making friends easily.  She's friendly, outgoing, and still needs minimal amounts of sleep to function.  She is constantly pretending.  If she doesn't have toys in her hands talking to one another than she is using her hands to act as people talking to each other.  I love listening to her play. There's never a dull moment with her around.
