Happy Today

I woke up early today and after feeding Kate I decided just to stay awake. I got all ready to head to the gym and when I woke Matt up to tell him he reminded me that he has an appointment on campus this morning so I'll have to wait...bummer! But I am happy to have a nice quiet morning to myself while everyone else is sleeping. As I was sitting here I started to think about the things in my life I am grateful for and since I'm in the mood to type I'll share them with you.

*My husband. He's a good man who works hard to support our little family along with going to school. No wonder I hardly see him! He's fun loving and it's adorable watching his heart just melt when it comes to Kate. He always tells me I'm "hot" although I never believe him and usually just think he's trying to get something. But I'm glad he still tells me that. Yesterday he rented two video games for him and I to play together. (I hate video games) It was such a cute gesture I sucked it up and have played both games with him and it's been fun.
*Kate, where do I start. She has really become my best little buddy considering we spend every minute of every hour of everyday together. We have so much fun well usually it's me being goofy making up songs dancing, jumping, pretty much anything to make her laugh. I've loved watching her little personality develop and her likes and dislikes for things come out. I think Matt and I bought her about 5 toys last month...only one of which she actually likes. She always wakes up happy and I can't take a drink out of a cup without her wanting one too. I really feel so blessed and so grateful to my Father in heaven for such a sweet little baby.
(She is obsessed with her diaper, she wouldn't even look at me, she wanted that thing!)

*SNOW we have so much I haven't seen this much in Logan since my Freshman year of college. Along with that I must admit I'm very grateful for the man who came to our door and offered to shovel our driveway for only $5 that was a steal, our driveway is super long! (A picture from outside our front window)

*Our home, although there isstill a huge list of things I'd like to do to "fix it up" or at last bring it up to date I really do love our house. It keeps us warm and has plenty of room for the three of us and even for company (hint hint).

*My sister. It's great to have someone there that doesn't mind if I call them everyday just to talk to an adult. She's always been a wonderful sister even when I wouldn't let her borrow my clothes. I loved growing up having a little playmate that was pretty much my age. We had fun spending endless hours playing barbies, school, and house. I'm grateful her and I have little girls so close in age and I'm grateful for the great friend she has always been for me. (sorry I don't have any recent pictures of the two of us, do you Amber?)

*My thoughts this last week fell on President Hinckley as they did for most of you. He really was a remarkable man and one that has left a lasting impression on my life. If it wasn't for him I don't know that there would have been a Winter Quarters Temple for me to get married in. I will miss his sense of humor and hearing him speak at conference. I never doubted how much he loved every member of the church. I am grateful we have prophets on the earth today and I look forward to President Monson and the legacy he is beginning.

I'm so happy that I made your list of things for which you are grateful. It has been wonderful to have an older sister to look up to, and learn from. And, don't worry about the clothes. You are making up for it by sending Kate's clothes for Makenna to borrow!

I am so glad you have been so blessed! It is nice to take time out and remember how the Lord has had His hand in our lives. I often think about our runs around the temple and the awesome talks that would always follow. Thank you for continuing to be a grateful and uplifting friend. I continue to learn so much from you! Love you!
