Toy Room/ Craft Room/ Guest Room Makeover

Our downstairs bedroom has become our room of many uses, mainly it stores Kate's toys (well at least that was always the intention for it), along with being my scrapbooking room and a guest bedroom. I've never really done much with it because I didn't know what to do, but I finally got sick of seeing the ugly room and decided to do a room makeover... on a budget of course. It's not completely finished, but it looks a million times better.


The Letters I already had, I just painted them and hung them. Underneath the letters are bamboo rods, they are really cool in person the picture doesn't really do them justice. The bookshelf on the floor was an old one we had that I painted and laid down on it's side so Kate could access her toys easily. The pillows I made with fabric that was on clearance at Walmart.

I still want to buy actual blinds, but these curtains I whipped up in about 10 minutes are better than the previous ones that were hanging in this room. The mirror is made of bamboo and I love it, it was $1.99 from Ross. (My new favorite store for home decor) The animals on the other side of the window are little canvases from Michae's for $1 each, I just painted them.
The green ottoman I did buy from Ross also for $28 and inside are Kate's big toys along with her stuffed animals, it stores a ton more than I thought it would.
The lovely framed paper on this wall is actually scrapbook paper and the frames are from the dollar store.

There you have it, a pretty easy fix to a once ugly room. And I think it came in under $50.00 not too shabby!
